Sea of Thieves season 8 was recently revealed by Rare, and I have to say that it already appears to be the best update in years, with tons of prizes advancement factions, and world expansions.
I'm delighted that season 8 will begin with an entirely PVP-focused update, so sit back, unwind, and let's chat about everything you missed in the mind-blowing reveal trailer.

As Return of the Damned comes to an end, the armaments race between the two main groups enters its latest phase for as long as anybody can remember. PVP will take place in adventure mode, where ships will declare their loyalty to a group and choose to participate in PVP. So be prepared for that element of turmoil to always be there.
Already, this is far superior to any prior season. The two figureheads in the first shot stand in for the troops of the pirate lord, Athena's fortune, Captain Flameheart, and the Reaper's bones. The Guardians of Fortune and the Servants of the Flame are the two factions that will explore their development if you choose to join.
There are two ways to participate in PvP: passive play and active play. Passive play involves choosing a side and going about your daily activities without paying attention to events in the outside world or quests. By doing this, you'll be placed in a battle zone where hostile faction ships can and will attack you.
There is no whining or weeping about getting sunk like emissaries because rare makes this obvious, but I'll say it again: when you opt in, you are consenting to PVP. However, if you're feeling vindictive, you can use the war map to track down other ships. You no longer have an excuse. The cinematic portion begins at this point. Once in open water, it will plunge beneath the sea and emerge in the underwater crevasses.
Imagine them as underwater versions of the Damned tunnels. The battle bounds, a circle on the map designating the area of play, will appear whenever an invasion occurs, whether you are being invaded or an enemy is invading you. When you fan a match, you will shoot up out of the water facing your opponent.
The Hourglass starts to shatter if you stray too far outside of the circle. If you cross the line still more, it will blow up, sink your ship, and the battle will be lost. Just be aware that other ships on the server will be permitted to enter and exit the fighting limits. when you're battling the anti-running mechanic that rare implemented.
Even the chest-running and adventure-related problems that have recently plagued the arena are addressed. It's amazing how much thought went into this mechanic. It's also important to note that these conflicts could develop naturally, just as they always have.

Whether they agreed or not, you can easily sail over and sink someone. there is more more, and each of the factions has a strong progression system. Every time you triumph over a foe, The Hourglass effectively gains power. When you decide to depart, you can do so at the Emissary table, which will reward you with gold and advance your faction.
Adding more glue to your ship will allow you to advance in the passive mode. The value of The Hourglass increases with the amount of loot you own and can only be redeemed by visiting an outpost.
You make a lot of progress toward your hourglass and gain Allegiance if you defend your riches. In this update, there are two new factions to progress through. This development is referred as as Allegiance. We can see some nice data on the screen that are essentially reputation. Your overall number of ships sunk represents the faction's highest streak as well as the session's highest value.

We've never seen any of these kinds of stats shown in a game, so having them prominently displayed will result in some insane material and exciting gameplay.
There are 40 Brands banking new combinations for each faction if you also missed it. 40 are available for each. Although most of them will probably merely be the same on each party, it is encouraging to see some scope for sustained interaction.
With the addition of the championship mechanic, rare went even further. This has the effect of making you a boss ship with a new marker on the map if you accumulate a streak of four ships or more. Blaze will also gain more allegiance for syncing you.
To vote against greater Cruise sizes, you must be on a smaller ship and have achieved the status; nevertheless, this option is only available for Briggs and sloops.
