A Precision Air aircraft from Tanzania crashes into Lake Victoria.

The Precision jet, carrying around passengers from Dar es Salaam to Bukoba via Mwanza, crashed into Lake Victoria, leaving one person reported dead.


43 individuals were on board the aircraft, according to regional commissioner Albert Chalamila, including 39 passengers, 2 pilots, and 2 cabin personnel.


It was reportedly caused by violent waves and the region's constant downpour of rain. 15 individuals are allegedly still being retrieved as rescue efforts continue.

Samia Suluhu, the president of Tanzania, has issued a request for calm despite the ongoing rescue efforts.


We have a statement from Precision Air with more details on that specific tragedy, and it claims that Precision Air flight number pw494 from Dar es Salaam to Bukoba was involved in an accident while it was nearing Bukoba airport.
